Kathryn and I worked closely in the year leading up to her wedding to find the perfect balance of soft summer tones and sage greens, carefully avoiding a spring-forward feel. Stone Acres’ calm, grounded setting was a true reflection of Kathryn and Duncan as a couple, inspiring a botanical garden theme throughout. Bridesmaids carried simple chamomile bouquets, and a favorite detail was the large escort display print that sat on a potted herb-covered table, with some pots adorned with tendrilling bows for whimsy. We mixed rental inventory with cut crystal and glass bud vases that I antiqued and thrifted throughout the planning process, adding a touch of her grandmother’s classic taste to the day. Local dahlias brought seasonal color to the space, and the hand-painted matchbooks from the ceremony garden—painted by Kathryn’s father—added a personal touch. Foraged birch trees framed the tent poles, while delicate vines adorned lanterns above the dance floor. Speckled oatmeal-toned compotes and clear bud vases carried the botanical story throughout the reception. I’m so grateful to Kelly at Roseville Events for connecting us.
